Managing Director
Chelladurai Boopathy
As the mind and the muscle behind AvEn, he possesses a rich knowledge and experience in the field of aviation fuel. He honed his expertise over 17 years of being a part of and leading technically challenging and demanding projects all over India and internationally – developing key strengths in Pipe Design and Engineering, Pressure Vessels, Project and Commercial Operations Management, Stress Analysis and Hydraulic Calculation among other skillsets. A few of his commendable experiences are managing an Aviation Fuel Hydrant System which involved the handling of multidisciplinary responsibilities and designing India’s longest Aviation Fuel Hydrant system spanning 15kms of underground piping. He has proven himself time and time again as a high functioning individual who thrives in demanding situations. He administered a team that handled three farm tank projects simultaneously and on another occasion a team handling four concurrent offshore projects, both of which he successfully saw to completion within the allotted timeframe.
Chelladurai, fondly known as Chells in the industry, also grasped every opportunity to educate and train himself further to stay informed and updated on the latest developments in the field. He studied Piping Engineering at IIT, Bombay and went on to be trained at the Energy Institute in London in Aviation Fuel Quality Control and Certification as well as receiving training and qualification as Joint Inspection Group Inspector in Greece. His latest certification allows him to perform inspections and JIG audits on behalf of JIG at storage and airport facilities. He actively participates in giving back to the community and published a technical database of pipe sizing, pressure drop analysis & surge analysis for developing in-house software and AS 2885.5 compliant database for field pressure testing.
